Eastern Queens Extend Lead
Eastern Queens extended their lead of the Eastern Region Women’s Soccer League with a 0-2 victory at Sheckon Queens - the only match played on the scheduled Matchday 11.
Blessing Dhauro and Panashe Seke were on target, while Maneli Nyoni recorded her eighth clean sheet of the campaign.
Eastern Queens now hold a four-point cushion over nearest rivals Mutare City Queens.
Maningi Queens remain dark horses in the race to the Zimbabwe Women’s Premier Soccer League: maximum points from their three rescheduled matches will see them go clear at the top.
Their Matchday 11 opponents, Getty Queens, did not show up - and Maningi must be celebrating that as a blessing. They could have struggled because of fatigue, with most of their players having been on triumphant duty the previous day at the LM Auctioneers Zaka U21 Girls Soccer Festival.
